Tay's Burger Shack

A little pricier than I expected, but it always feels good to support locally-owned business. Comparable in both taste and price to Five Guys. I had a triple with fries--enjoyed the fries, they were seasoned well and on the crispy side. The best value I could see would be to get a single with condiments, lettuce, and pickles and disregard the combos. That said, the selection of bottled drinks is nice and refreshing.

SO GOOD! Just ate here for the first time and it reminds me of In and Out Burger, but on steroids! And dang those fries with that seasoning are addicting! It is a little pricier than expected but we love to support local businesses! You HAVE to try this place!!

Just found the best snow cones In kc!! Tays flavor station! The wide variety of Delicious syrups are Self serve, all you can pour, 100% real sugar, no high fructose corn syrup! Best of all they're open until 11 p.m 7 days a week!

I never know what I come for the burgers or the fries! The food here all around is great. There may be limited seating but people are in-and-out. And all the times I have went they have kept the restaurant very clean

Sitting what used to be a discount cigarette store, Tay's is what I would lovingly call a "dive." Burger shack isn't just a cute marketing theme. It's literally a shack. They also might have my favorite burgers in town. The patties are made with fresh 100% grass fed beef and you can absolutely tell the second you bite in. Patties are thin, but not too thin where you can't taste the beef. You can get one to four patties (the "Home Run") and most people can easily eat a double. Dressings are standard (lettuce, pickle and onion) but they'll make it to order. Combos come with terrific seasoned fries and a regular drink. The seasoning on the fries is delicious and not spicy-hot. I never use condiments with them. There are a few tables inside and some picnic style tables outside. I HIGHLY recommend Tay's and don't let the outside scare you off.

Very tasty burgers! The fries are great too. The staff has always been friendly. The building is well kept and clean despite it's age. My only minor complaint is that getting your food takes a little longer than I would like but that could be because they make everything to order.

Very very good Burger and fries! Burger is a steak burger, no extra $ for Cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, pickles or grilled onion. Single Patty would fill you up with all the fries they give you. The fries are amazing! Not too greasy. Kinda like 5guy fries, but better. The Sriracha ketchup and Sriracha mayo, are a fantastic kick to their food. Friendly servers as well. All around great little place. Food came out in under 5 min during a lunch rush.

Legit one of my favorite burger joints. Super close if you’re up by the hospital or Worlds of Fun. Fast service. Super friendly!! Great selection of root beer if that’s your jam. Always love stopping in this place.

AMAZING doesn't even touch how good this place's food is! The burger was very good, the fries were beyond expectations, and the chilli cheese dog made me wonder what I have been doing with my life eating at Sonic. DO NOT pass on this place! Amazing food for the price!

Been here many times and well continue to return for the foreseeable future. Always clean and comfortable. Staff is helpful and courteous. This is the best burger in town that I have found. It's a burger. It isn't a artisan, fancy bun and non-sense topping. Standard Burger with Standard toppings. Perfect.

Trying to be supportive of local business during this trying time. Call to order a burger. It only took five minutes to order it. Showed up after calling order in and waited, and waited. It’s not like the store was busy at all. The lady charged me for a combo versus the sandwich on the phone... I said it’s cool. Make it a triple if the money is the same... so they made me a triple with Cheese on it.... wow. It was only a disappointment because I must’ve had a repeated my order to the lady on the phone about 15 times. The fact she still got it wrong, shocker!. Grabbed a $14.xx refund... the burgers are good.... But I know plenty of other tasty burger places. Oh well.

I did not taste a big difference in a 15 dollar combo. I know it won't break or make them with this post I never spent that on a hamburger so I tried it. My burgers were not all on the bun they was hanging off the bread wrapped but they was juicy burgers not dry. Fries not so happy with they seemed rushed to get done. But won't spend another dime thanks for trying and letting me try your food. Inside is cool just a bit

A hole-in-the-wall burger joint with a simple menu. Thin burger patties ala steak and shake style. Good burgers and even better shoe string seasoned fries. Small eating area with outside picnic tables. Quick service. Can get glass bottle sodas with your meal. They have their own orange soda on tap. A little dirty inside and in restroom, but it's the kind of place that when you go, you aren't going looking for sparkling clean place, you just want the "hole-in-the-wall" atmosphere and good burgers.

This place absolutely deserves the high rating they have. They are so kind and the food came way faster than any fast food restaurant I've been to and it is cooked perfectly. The burger is real meat. That taste you don't find often at restaurants. Very relaxed and fun environment. I'm so glad we stopped to try this.

Incredible burger and fries. Absolutely blown away! Few ways to customize the sandwich. If you're looking for a great burger, look no further. Love the atmosphere and the service.

Fun place! Just like previous reviews- def a "hole in the wall" place that NKC-ers flock to. Within minutes of sitting down a line of customers came in! Burgers are juicy and the fries are seasoned well! FYI the kids hot dog is half a brat- which was fine for our little eaters. Refills on soda or get your in a glass bottle! Fun, funky, hometown atmosphere.

I recommend this place. The burgers were good, and the service was great. The value was good too. My wife, daughter, and all got full for around $22. Also, they were busy, but we didn't have to wait a long time.

Tried Tay's for the first time Tue afternoon for lunch 4/21. Friendly staff. The burgers and fries are good and the food quality is good. Only real complaint is that they charge $2.68 for bacon. I wish I could pay the pic... But clearly the food cost is out of control on their bacon. Two strips. Also there are some tricks to ordering... I'll be more clear next time about adds and removes. Also the fries come with a seasoning... A little spicy.
